SummerStage has week-long camps available in both half-day and full-day options. There is also a two-week production for teens 14 – 18 years old. Each camp will focus on a different skill; such as singing, dancing, acting, playwriting, and technical theater.  Please see below for a full list of classes.

  • Each camp begins with a brief 30-minute orientation meeting for parents
  • Students should bring a snack and drink each day.  Full-day students should also bring a sack lunch each day.

Go, Go, Go Joseph: A Performance Camp

June 2 - 12

  • A unique musical theater experience of a professional rehearsal process and performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
  • Ages 6 – 13
  • 12:00 PM – 4: 00 PM [June 2 – 11]
  • 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM [June 12]
  • Performances June 13 – July 18 (possible extension to July 27) [Weekday evenings and weekend matinees and evenings]

Going Dark: A Technical Theater Camp

June 2 - 12

  • Learn about aspects of technical theater, such as lights, sound, stage management, costumes, hair and make-up, and scenic design through hands-on activities while gaining access to a professional rehearsal process.
  • Ages 14 – 18
  • 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM [June 2 – 11]

Broadway Bound

June 16 - 20

  • Each day we will be learning historical facts, music, and choreography from well-known- Broadway productions. [example, learn about Fosse while learning All That Jazz choreo or learn history while being embedded in the story of Hamilton]
  • Ages 6 – 18 – students will be grouped by age
  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

5, 6, 7, 8: A Dance Camp

June 16 - 20

  • This camp would focus solely on dance technique, with an emphasis on select dance styles frequently used in Musical Theater.
  • Ages 6 – 18 – students will be grouped by age
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Price: $300 + $50 Supplies Fee

Yes, and…: A Theater Game & Improve Camp

June 23 - 27

  • This camp is an introduction to acting, acting exercises, acting games, and other opportunities to be creative.
  • Ages 6 – 18 – students will be grouped by age
  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Price: $300 + $25 Supplies Fee

Sing Out: A Vocal Camp

June 23 - 27

  • This camp would focus solely on vocal technique, with an emphasis on group and solo performances.
  • Ages 6 – 18 – students will be grouped by age
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Price: $300 + $50 Supplies Fee

End of Play: A Creative Play Writing Camp

July 7 - July 11

  • Ages 6-13 – This camp would be an introduction to writing, a discussion of building characters, scene work, and writing show stories/poems/ expressive pieces.
  • Ages 14-18 – This camp for teens would be a more advanced writing class with a focus on writing scenes and scripts meant to be performed. Campers should learn how to create characters, develop a plot, and move a story forward.

I Hope I Get It: An Audition Prep Camp

July 7 - July 11

  • For those who have a love for performing and want to be ready for your next opportunity. Camp will focus on Monologue selection and prep, song selection and prep, and tips on learning choreography. Actors will receive one professional headshot, and have the opportunity to audition for the Dallas Theater Center 2025-2026 season.
  • Ages 6 – 18 – students will be grouped by age

DRAMA!!!: An Acting Camp

July 14 - July 18

  • The camp will focus on reacting and listening skills, character development, improvisation, partner work, and script analysis.
  • Ages 6 – 18 – students will be grouped by age
  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Jr. Musical Theater Camp: Kid Flix

July 14 - 18

  • Have fun with songs from “Zootopia”; “The Polar Express”; “Monsters Inc.”; “Moana”; “Spider-Man” and “The Peanuts Movie” in a one-week production for students of all levels. All students will have spoken lines and a vocal solo.
  • Performance will be at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Voice Over Camp

July 14 - 18

  • Ever dreamed of voicing a commercial, cartoon or video game? Learn to use your speaking voice This interactive camp introduces the world of voice acting and basic tips to navigate the voice-over industry.

Musical Theater Camp: Broadway Beat

July 21 - July 25

  • Celebrate musical theater with hits from “Hairspray”, “The Music Man”, “The King and I”, “Wicked”, “Rent”, “Grease”, and a medley of George M. Cohan favorites in a one-week production for students of all levels. All students will have spoken lines and a vocal solo.
  • Performance will be at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025
  • Ages 9 – 13
  • 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Price: $500 + 100 Supplies Fee

Two-Week Intensive Musical Theater Camp: The Spongebob Musical

July 21 - August 1

  • Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show in this two-week production! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world.
  • Students will audition the first day of camp and all students who are enrolled will be cast.
  • Performance will be at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2025.
