PRODUCTION

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

An active member of Dallas Theater Center (DTC)’s Production Department, the Technical Director is responsible for approving and the realization of all scenic elements as designed by Scenic Designers, lead the management of scenic department personnel, as well as supervise all rigging/carpentry needs of the production department as needed.

The Technical Director reports directly to the Director of Production, and is responsible for effectively supporting the scenic design, ensuring that high artistic standards are met at all times. This is a full time, exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime. This position includes a full benefits package optional enrollment: medical, dental, and vision insurance, DTC-paid life insurance, voluntary life insurance, 403b programs, complimentary tickets, and generous paid-time off. Some nights and weekends will be required as needed throughout the season.

ASSISTANT HEAD OF LIGHTING

As an active member of Dallas Theater Center (DTC)’s Production Department, the Assistant Head of Lighting is responsible supporting operations of the Lighting Department and the Head of Lighting in the realization of all lighting elements as designed by Lighting Designers and assisting in the leadership of department personnel. The Assistant Head of Lighting reports directly to the Head of Lighting and oversees Staff Electricians and overhires.

This is a full time, exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime. This position includes a full benefits package optional enrollment: medical, dental, and vision insurance, DTC-paid life insurance, voluntary life insurance, 403b programs, complimentary tickets, and generous paid time off. Some nights and weekends will be required as needed throughout the season.

HEAD OF LIGHTING

STAFF CARPENTER

An active member of Dallas Theater Center (DTC)’s Production Department, the Staff Carpenter is responsible for build, installation, and strike of all scenic elements. The Staff Carpenter reports to the Assistant Technical Director, and is responsible for effectively supporting the scenic design, ensuring that high artistic standards are met at all times. An ideal candidate would be someone who is a team player, has a positive attitude, and strong communication and time management skills.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which is eligible for overtime. This position includes a full benefits package: medical, dental and vision insurance, DTC-paid life insurance, voluntary life insurance and 403b programs, complimentary tickets and generous paid-time off. PUBLIC WORKS

PART-TIME TEACHING ARTIST

Teaching Artists will work closely with Public Works staff to create outstanding educational experiences for teens in both our free community workshops throughout Dallas County, and in our flagship program, Project Discovery, which, for over 30 years has provided scholarships for students to attend plays and workshops at the Dallas Theater Center. This is a part-time position and does not include benefits. Some nights will be required as needed throughout the season.
