COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
Dallas Theater Center offers year-round community workshops, taught by industry professionals at our community partner locations in the city of Dallas. Workshops are open to all ages and free to attend with registration.

Participants of all ages are welcome to engage in a variety of classes including, storytelling, improv, dance and more in an effort to inspire lovers of performing arts and theater.

Continuing our foundations from the fall, we’ll continue having fun with storytelling, friends, and family. Alongside games and improvisation, we will practice confidence in front of an audience as well as breathing to relax and tell wonderful stories. Stick around to prepare and perform our end of the year show!

The focus of this class is collaborative storytelling and participants will work together as a team to create a brand-new short play. Utilizing creative writing exercises, improv and the special talents of each participant, the class will build a new play from scratch. All experience levels are encouraged to participate, and everyone has something important to offer. The class will culminate in a public sharing of their new play.

For ages 11-18.
All are welcome, but participants must first enroll in Jubilee’s Afterschool Program.
In this adventurous workshop, students will create their own characters, inspired by their favorite TV shows, video games, movies, and books. Class will be interactive and Oh, and there will be NO HOMEWORK!
Through group activities in multiple creative sessions, students will create final multimedia performances featuring elements of improv, music, drawing/cartoons, dance and movement, game and world design, scriptwriting, claymation, and more!

Open to everyone, and Veterans, Military and their families are welcome to attend.
We are all storytellers! Maybe you have a story from your own life that needs to be told or maybe you have always wanted to tell something wild and fantastical. This class will let you do that, exploring how we use our bodies to create characters, engage an audience, and make our voices powerful. We’ll create monologues, scenes, dance pieces, poetry, or whatever you want! Along the way, learning writing and acting skills that are applicable to so many different aspects of our lives. Participants will conclude the workshop with a monologue or story ready for performance or auditions.
