You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers. Here are a few of the most common questions we get at Dallas Theater Center.

GENERAL

What time does the box office open?

– The box office is currently closed to walk up purchases. We can be reached over the phone at (214) 522-8499, Tuesday through Friday 10am-5pm & Saturday 1pm-6pm, or through email at ticketing@dallastheatercenter.org.

When does the lobby/house open prior to the performance?

– The lobby will open approximately 90 minutes prior to show time and House will open
approximately 30 minutes prior to show time.

What kind of drinks/concessions are available?

– We have a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at both of our theaters, as
well as common theater snacks.

What is the dress code?

– There is no dress code at the Dallas Theater Center. Theatergoers wear everything from
jeans to suits to the little black dress.

What is DTC’s Late Seating Policy?

– Late seating is at the discretion of the House Manager and front of house staff. They will do their best to seat you in your purchased seats but if there is a risk to actors or the experience of other audience members you may be placed elsewhere in the house.

Can I bring a bag into theater?

– This depends on the theater your show is at. Upon entering the Wyly Theater, all
patrons will be subject to the same security screening process which includes
walk-through metal detectors and, in some cases, hand wands. In addition, all bags,
purses, blankets, and personal items are subject for inspection. Please prepare
accordingly; remove hats, jackets, and sunglasses and empty pockets of cell phones,
keys, wallets, and any other items prior to entering the metal detectors.Bags are
allowed in the theaters, subject to a security check. No weapons are allowed in the
theaters. The Kalita Theater does not have a security bag check; however, we do ask that
you leave weapons at home.

PARKING

Where is the Lexus Silver parking garage located?

– It is located on Jack Evans Street, between the Wyly Theater and Moody Performance Hall. Parking is $18.00

How do I redeem my Lexus Silver ticket to use in the garage?

– Parking passes can be purchased on and downloaded from the DTC mobile app. The pass can be saved to your Apple or Google Wallet on your smartphone. Show your pass to the parking attendant upon arrival. Also, the parking attendant will have the name associated with the purchase on file. You will pull up to the entrance, state your name, and the attendant will let you in.

Where is parking in the Kalita Humphreys Theater?

– There is parking around the theater that is free of charge. We recommend that you arrive early to find a good parking spot.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

– Yes! The box office opens 90 minutes before each show to sell available tickets.

– Standby Tickets are available in the event of a sold-out performance and are $50 for A Christmas Carol and $30-$35 for other musicals & additional performances. You will be seated in unfilled seats prior to the start of the performance at the discretion of House Management. Standby tickets can only be purchased in person 90 minutes prior to the show time.

What discounts are offered?

– Military Tickets = 10% off at Regular performances for active & retired military. (1 ticket per Military ID). ID required to pick up tickets at Will Call.
– Senior Tickets = 10% off at Regular performances. ID required to pick up tickets at Will Call.
– Student and Teacher Rush Tickets are available with proof of a school ID. A Christmas Carol, Waitress, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat are $25 each; Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, Shane, and Primary Trust are $20 each.

Do I need to buy a ticket for my infant?

– DTC’s policy is that every patron, regardless of age, must have a ticket. No discount or free tickets are given to toddlers or infants, even if they sit on their parents’ lap.

How do I access my mobile tickets?

– You can access your tickets through the Dallas Theater Center mobile app. The app is available for all smartphones through your app store. After downloading, you will login with the same email and password you used to purchase your tickets online. Your tickets should be on the homepage of the app between 15 minutes to a day after your purchase. The QR code will not appear until two weeks before your performance. Tickets in the mobile app can be downloaded to the Apple or Google Wallet. If you do not remember your login information or if you have any issues, please call the box office at (214) 522- 8499.

Are there any additional fees to my ticket?

– There is a $2.00 Facility Fee and a $8.00 Handling Fee per ticket. We waive the handling fees for orders made in person.

How do I exchange my tickets?

– Tickets can be exchanged over the phone to another date, subject to availability. Non-subscribers will be charged a $5.00 fee per ticket exchanged. Tickets MUST be exchanged no later than 24 hours before the performance. No exchanges will be accepted after the performance date.

What is the refund policy?

– Tickets are non-refundable. Refunds are only offered in the case of a performance cancellation by the theater.

What is DTC’s Late Seating Policy?

An emergency occurred and I cannot make my performance date. What are my options?

– Please send us an email at ticketing@dallastheatercenter.org or a call at (214) 522-8499. We understand that life happens, and we are more than willing to accommodate in the event of an emergency.

 

When should I arrive to pick up my tickets at Will Call?

– We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to give you time to pick up your tickets and enjoy some refreshments.

ACCESSIBILITY

What are the accessible seating options at the Wyly Theater/Kalita Theater?

– We have accessible seating options on every level of the Wyly/Kalita Theater. Please give us a call at (214) 522-8499 and we will find the best option for you.

Where can I get Assistive Listening Devices for the performance?

– Assistive Listening Devices are available through the House Manager. There is no charge for the devices but an ID is required and will be held by the House Manager until the device is returned. Feel free to visit the Box Office for further assistance.

What are sensory bags?

– Our sensory bags are designed to help sensory needs in both adults and children. The bag contains noise-reducing headphones, different types of fidget toys,a lanyard stating that the patron is feeling non-verbal, and a card that can be used to communicate. They are cleaned and sanitized after every performance. There is no charge for the bag but an ID is required (to be held at the Box Office) until the bag is returned.
