Participants will work together as a team to create a brand-new short play. Using creative writing exercises, improv, and the special talents of each participant, the class will build a new piece from scratch. All experience levels are welcome, and everyone has something important to offer! Fall will focus on creating an exciting cliffhanger. Winter will create a thrilling conclusion, and in Spring we’ll focus on revisions, as we prepare for a public sharing of their new play.

We are all storytellers! Maybe you have a story from your own life that needs to be told or maybe you have always wanted to tell something wild and fantastical. This class will let you do that, exploring how we use our bodies to create characters, engage an audience, and make our voices powerful. We’ll create monologues, scenes, dance pieces, poetry, or whatever you want! Along the way, learning writing and acting skills that are applicable to so many different aspects of our lives. Together, we’ll create a show for the Steven A Cohen community in Spring 2023.
