A CHRISTMAS CAROL 2013
11/21/2013 to 12/24/2013

A spectacular new production brings the hope and joy of Dickens’ perennial classic to the Wyly Theatre for the very first time. This dazzling new Carol will fill the Wyly Theatre with music and special effects — from flying ghosts to falling snow — with the audience right in the middle of the action. From “Bah! Humbug!” to “God bless us, everyone!” A Christmas Carol is a holiday tradition full of merriment and chills, meant to be shared with family and friends. Appropriate for families. Recommended for ages 8 and above.

Designing Carol

This year, DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty is bringing to life a world premiere adaptation of A Christmas Carol at the Wyly Theatre. Audiences will still see the loving Cratchit family, cute Tiny Tim and the nasty Ebenezer Scrooge, but they’ll also be delighted with a brand new design. Moriarty has tapped a few favorite DTC designers to bring the story to life.

Before the play, join us for a free 30-minute informative talk designed
to enhance your play-going experience. Given one hour before every performance, a member of the cast or artistic staff will share details about the play’s origins and context, as well as insight into the

After the play, stick around for a free, brief, post-show conversation with  cast members from the show. Engage with the artists, learn
about the production, and share your insights about the play in
a lively discussion.

Kudos, Kevin!! Saw Christmas Carol last night, and absolutely taken by the production. We enjoyed it as much as anything we have ever seen at the Wyly!Your re-writing gave so much more plausibility to the story and the scenery was perfect. Thank you for a great evening, I think we'll probably be back –52 years and counting!

My sister came and saw the show last week with my nephews. She said that it was the most amazing thing ever and that it brought tears to all. She also mentioned that my nephews could not stop talking about it and how they really really enjoyed it. Now I can't wait to see it with my kids!!

I brought 17 family members to the production on Nov. 29. It was wonderful...the best yet. Children loved it and family is still talking about the wonderful experience it was!

Saw A Christmas Carol on Saturday, 11/30. Really enjoyed the portrayal of Marley's Ghost. Liked the Industrial imagery also, though it took a while to get used to having a group of employees instead of just Bob Cratchett. Enjoyed it, thank you.
